Milk Can Diner is a brand new, elevated Diner concept launching in Greendale in late Fall 2021. We are expanding on the established Milk Can Hamburgers brand to develop a full-service diner with a 100-seat dining room, full bar, and 50 seat patio. In addition to the Milk Can brand’s existing burger, chicken and custard program, this location will feature brunch and dinner entrees offering a unique twist on classic diner favorites.

Job Summary

We are looking for talented Servers who have the patience, personality, and perseverance to elevate the dining experience for our customers. A Servers responsibilities include greeting and serving customers, providing detailed information on menus, multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties, entering orders not the point of sale, handling payments, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining room. An ideal candidate will be a service-minded individual who prides themselves on their ability to connect with their guests; as well as a willing team player who always looks to help those around them.   • Provide genuine hospitality. Appreciate, inform, and connect with every guest in your section. The food and drinks will be exceptional, the atmosphere will be compelling, but it’s your service that will turn a guest into a dedicated regular
  • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g., about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies, etc)
  • Up-sell additional products when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders using a POS ordering software (Toast)
  • Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Serve food and drink orders
  • Deliver checks and collect payments
  • Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
  • Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations
  • Assist other functions as needed – seat guests, clear tables, run food & drinks, clean the dining room, assist guests in placing carry-out orders
  • Perform daily site work – roll silverware, clean dining room, restock service areas  
  • Must be at least 18 years old, 21+ preferred 
  • Experience as a Server preferred
  • Experience with cash handling and POS systems
  • Basic math skills
  • Attentiveness and patience for customers
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Team spirit
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business demands
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Reliable transportation
  • Hours of Operation Sunday-Thursday (7 am-9 pm) Friday-Saturday (7 am-10 pm)
Compensation: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
