Assistant General Manager
Milk Can Diner is a brand new, elevated Diner concept launching in Greendale in late summer 2021. We are expanding on the established Milk Can Hamburgers brand to develop a full-service diner with a 100 seat dining room, full bar, and 50 seat patio. In addition to the Milk Can brand’s existing burger, chicken and custard program, this location will feature brunch and dinner entrees offering a unique twist on classic diner favorites.

We are currently seeking an experienced, full-time, Assistant General Manager to assist in overseeing the daily operations of this new concept. We are looking for someone who is able to adapt to and implement new systems and brings their unique perspective to our brand. Our Restaurant Managers deliver genuine hospitality while they lead, coach, and inspire their team members to do the same. 

General Responsibilities
  • Work directly with General Manager and Head Chef to ensure service and quality standards
  • Manage daily FOH restaurant operations, ensuring employees are staying on task and outstanding service is provided to each guest
  • Oversee bar operations including scheduling, ordering, inventory, and seasonal recipe development
  • Assist in administrative duties including scheduling, purchasing, payroll processing, and implementing new policies
  • Train FOH team members to increase their knowledge regarding safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles
  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate staff in a positive and encouraging manner
  • Educate team members on both our food and beverage menu items, coach and inspire them to in turn educate our guests 
  • Lead using a team-based service approach throughout the restaurant
  • Work calmly and effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • On-board new staff members and oversee their continued training

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Management experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant environment (required)
  • Bar management experience (preferred)
  • Nights, Weekend and Holiday availability
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Proficient in Toast, OpenTable, Excel, and have general knowledge of social media platforms
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of time up to 6 hours in length
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
